SlutWalk

Recently I spoke at the SlutWalk Edinburgh event.

SlutWalk has been a spontaneous national success, which shows a new generation of people want to talk about victim blaming and sexual violence.

I have blogged anonymously about my own experiences of sexual violence (and other topics too!) and have been overwhelmed by positive responses.  People tell me that what I’ve said has helped them.  So I recently decided to speak about it in person.

People think you can’t talk about this stuff.  My aim was to show you can, and how.

Victims have nothing to be ashamed of, and of course we care about what happened to them.   So why wouldn’t we listen?
